The Hantavirus is an infectious disease that is usually contracted through infected mice. Humans may become infected through food contaminated with mouse droppings or urine, making it extremely important to use professional mouse-proofing techniques. When a person contracts the Hantavirus, the symptoms are similar to the flu, but soon the lungs will fill with fluid and kidney failure may begin. There is no cure, so the person’s symptoms can only be managed until he or she improves or passes.
