Mice have a tendency to find their way indoors during the colder months. They can be a real problem around the house. A good solution is to use different techniques to get rid of them permanently. Here is some information on how you can use essential oils to keep mice away, at least for the time being.

Essential Oils Can Help… For a While

Essential oils are used by many people for multiple reasons, including their unique smells. Some may be more effective than others but one thing is certain; they really do have a pungent aroma that can be noticed from far away! Here are some of the best essential oil mice repellents.

Lemongrass oil: this is one of the most popular and widely used oils and it has a unique smell that many rodents do not like. It is best to combine this with other oils to create a stronger scent that will be noticed more quickly.

Citronella oil: this particular type of oil is one of the best and it has been used for years. It is often combined with other essential oils to create a stronger scent that will help repel mice quickly and easily.

Sage oil: this oil can also be combined with other types of oils as it is very effective as well. The key is to combine many different smells as mice become accustomed to one particular scent.

Rosemary oil: this oil has a very strong and pleasant smell that mice do not like either. It is important to remember that different scents work at different strengths so you have to combine these three oils together for the best possible result.

Using the Essential Oils

There are many different tips on how you can use essential oils mice repellents. Here are some of the best tips:

Put a few drops of oil at every entry point to your house – this is one of the most effective ways to keep mice out and it will also ensure that they aren’t coming back again.

Use cotton balls – to make your own cotton balls, simply put a few drops of essential oil onto a cotton ball and seal it in an airtight container.

Use spray bottles – you could pour some oil into a spray bottle or you can use one that is specifically made for oils. Then, lightly coat areas where mice are found to discourage them from coming back.

Essential oils do help, but only for so long. The mice will get used to the smell and come back if they really want somewhere safe to live.
