Mouse Proofing

The Steps of Getting Rid of Mice

There are a few natural remedies you can use for mouse proofing around your home. For definitive mice removal in Chicago, though, consult your mouse exterminator as soon as possible.

Walk through your house and around your property; look for any trash or wood piles, as well as possible food and water sources. Remove these potential nesting areas and food sources. Keep your trash and personal possessions in a sealed, plastic container or box. House mice can chew through wood and cardboard easily, but will have a harder time with hard plastic. Once you have cleaned everything up, sprinkle a potent spice in the infested areas. Mice dislike the smell of peppers, curry, cinnamon, and other strong-smelling spices, and they will often leave the area.
